Anyone heard of them or gave them a listen? Been into them for a while. I find them rather refreshing. It's like the result of metal and electronic music having a baby that's not in the vain of symphonic metal. I imagine it's easy to recommend these guys to a larger range of people.
They only have 2 LPs out. I'm enjoying Board Up the House most out of the two.

I look at Ramesses as a doom group with somewhat of a blackened sound. Imo, it works pretty well in this context and I definitely like their sound. I've got their EPs We Will Lead You to Glorious Times and Baptism of the Walking Dead and their debut album Misanthropic Alchemy and I must say that they're all pretty damn awesome. I haven't got their latest album (Take the Curse) yet but some doom enthusiasts I know have said that it's their best work to date.

Anyone familiar with them? Tried searching through the forums and it seems only Napalm Kid and Jezaig has commented on their like/love of them.

I give these guys respect for what they do. Actually they take a lot of credit for making me appreciate music and consequently metal as a whole. Branded rather forcefully into nu metal they've proven over the years that they are above it. Where a lot of the bands in that genre have come to pass they haven't. Alternative metal would probably be the best suited term for them.

They're not overly and straightforwardly technical like most are used to but they can make great songs that range from emotive to atmospheric to cathartic from the simplest of riffs to the subtleties and nuances added in by DJ Frank Delgado without the overblown "HEY, WE HAVE A DJ!" adage in songs and through Chino Moreno's potentially haunting lyrics. The most striking thing about them is each band member's distinct taste in music. Seriously, the guitarist Stephen Carpenter listens to rap more than anything and yet his favourite album is Chaosphere by Meshuggah . They manage to form great songs with a bit of everyone's taste added in, these ranging from their influences such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, Slayer, Fear Factory, Faith No More and so on. And they do it right. The most commonly known of their albums, White Pony, is regarded to be the band's most concise although I question it as a strictly metal album. The previous two albums (Adrenaline, Around the Fur) had more weight to it while the ones that succeeded it (Deftones, Saturday Night Wrist) didn't quite have as concise a focus and some songs bordered being experimental.

I haven't bought the latest album yet (Diamond Eyes) but for those who have listened to it, how is it?

Some Polish guy was complaining so I signed up. Okay, joking aside I've been lurking around and figure I sign up.

I'm not a metalhead just to let you know in advance so don't expect much from me. I just tend to listen to either metal or hardcore punk most. I'm a late bloomer to listening and appreciating music in general including metal so I cannot crap out band after band. I am however disappointed that there is no Converge thread.

These guys are too awesome to not have their own thread. I've already listened to Alice in Hell and Never, Neverland countless times... Should I continue going chronologically with the albums or are there any I should listen to specifically?

Ok ok, I must confess I am not a huge fan of core music, but this band has been a guilty pleasure of mine for about 2 years. They are in the works of making a new album, and personally I can't wait.

These guys are Death Metal / Grindcore / Hardcore
2 cores vs Death Metal so I thought I'd post them here. Besides, the core characteristics are definitely there, not that it's a bad thing.. just rare for me ..
They aren't Deathcore, no breakdowns! They are just pure awesome. That is what I have gathered anyway.
