Because "The Accolade" is currently playing on my shuffle.

This has got to be the pure definition of "epic metal". Their writing is awesome, the music is great, and the singer is one of the first clean metal singers that I've really liked a lot. It's like Turelli (I think it was Luca Turelli) without the terrible nasal Italian accent.

So yeah, discuss. So far, my favorite shit by them has got to be "The Odyssey" (The song), "The Accolade", and "The Divine Wings of Tragedy".

Also, the bassist is apparently also a fucking maniac; check out the intro to "Pharaoh".

Not bad, but not great, either. And I'd say that plenty of bands are more "epic" than Symphony X.

All right, so after sorting out a lot of random chaff, I have realized some stuff...

-My favorite tracks are easily "Paradise Lost", "Set the World on Fire", "The Odyssey", and "The Divine Wings of Tragedy". The first is really my favorite, and it is... super poppy. Look it up. So is "Set the World on Fire". It makes me question my metal kvlt br00tal kred

But really? Depending on what of theirs you find... they have some good shit. "The Divine Wings of Tragedy" is a simply incredible song for, well, everyone, and I heartily recommend all 20 minutes of it. FUCK YEAH.
