It's not better than Sad Wings, but I prefer it to Screaming, to be honest. Screaming (like a lot of their "classic" stuff) is good, just never connected with me.

The only albums they've done that come close to complete shit are Nostradamus and Painkiller.Manilla Road, imo. Their high points are just as high as Priest's and they are more consistent overall.
EDIT: For what it's worth, Stained Class and maybe Sin After Sin (haven't listened to that one in a while) are better than Screaming for Vengeance.

Stained Class and Sin After Sin are better front to back than Screaming for Vengance but they're different. And that's really unfair because those two albums have Exciter and Dissident Aggressor which are sick. Sad Wings is amazing too. Twins, I agree with you when you say SWOD is the best album of the 70s by anyone other than Sabbath. I really like Killing Machine (Hell Bent For Leather) too although its certainly not as consistent as Stained Class. I would say I love all the albums before Turbo sans Point of Entry which is kind of lame. Ram It Down has its moments for sure-the title track has a sick solo from Glenn Tipton. Like Painkiller a lot, the songwriting is good and I like what Scott Travis' drumming brings to the mighty Priest. I like Jugulator (sue me) but Demolition is pretty bad, like Angel of Retribution quite a bit but I can't stand Nostradamus one bit. So yeah, I enjoy most of their stuff.

Turbo's really grown on me tbh, I find it pretty manly nowadays.

Not that I've heard the whole thing, but the title track on Turbo is actually one of the best parts of it and a lot of the other songs are kinda bad.

I haven't heard the full album in awhile but I remember the title track being slammin', as well as a few of the other tracks. The last track in particular was really good.

Again, not that I've actually heard it all the way through, but Turbo isn't really as bad as people say it is, although its not nearly as heavy as their other stuff so I get that part of it.

It certainly wouldn't receive so much hate if it were from a different band. Those people do kinda have a point, though; why listen to Turbo or Ram it Down or something when Priest has so much better material?

That's true. If I'm in the mood for Priest I wanna listen to something like Unleashed In the Studio or Sad Wings, not Turbo.

I dunno. I listen to Turbo when I'm not in the mood for Priest tbh... I just put it on when I'm in the mood for good, really-80s sounding music. That drum machine man.

Jugulator is an underrated album. Cathedral Spires rules so fucking hard..
