These guys are a great folk metal band IMO. In some songs they have the traditional folk metal sound and in others they have a sound similar to melodic death metal.

Once again posting how an irl friend of mine who's a death metal fanboii told me that they performed with Kreator. Or was it Opeth?

Fan here. I'm pretty much solely into them right now; love their instrumentation the most out of the folk metal bands so far. All their releases have been great to date, including Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion that some metal fans have been disappointed with because of it being a folk album.

I love Eluveitie and all their albums as well.........except Evocation I. Most of it is just a girl talking.

Nah, dude. It's predominantly with folk instruments and background male/female vocals here and there. I guess you must like the ladies in Eluveitie to notice them most.

For the record, their folk album is actually an interesting listen through and through. It didn't bore me basically.

I just hope their next one is better as it should be coming out soon. They just released the artwork and shit.

This band is absolute shit. Slania is one of the worst things I have heard.

Yeah, I'm not a fan either.

So much cheese as to be almost completely unlistenable. Typical of folk metal, really; all I've heard that I liked is Ensiferum and the black metal hybrids like Borknagar.

I don't even like Borknagar. I like Vintersorg's solo project, I like some Drudkh, I like some Falkenbach, but that's it in the folk metal department.

My friend bought two albums by these guys. I have yet to listen to them. Should I be anticipating this, or sharpening my raping knife?

Anything stopping you from doing both?
