I don't really listen to a lot of doom metal (I would like to change this, though), but I love Candlemass. I have Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and Death Magic Doom (their new album), and both are fantastic.
Any other fans?

Always meant to check this band out. Now is the time. Getting Death Magic Doom right now. Any other album(s) I should be checking out?
Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is their best. The rest of their stuff from the 80s and their self-titled are also really good.
Nightfall is their best by far IMO, but EDM is legendary as well. Any album with Messiah is worth getting (Nightfall, Ancient Dreams, Tales of Creation and the S/T).
I actually don't really care for Messiah as a vocalist... I much prefer Johan or Rob Lowe tbh... probably controversial.
But I need to get more Candlemass. I've heard various tracks from various albums, but I only actually OWN Epicus Doomicus Metallicus.

With the addition of Death Magic Doom. Thats a pretty beast album.
I've gotten Death Magic Doom and it's really fucking awesome. Listened to it about 6 times in two days. I suppose I'll get EDM next. Love the vocals on DMD, epic without being cheesy or anything.
Hell, I knew I knew the vocalist from somewhere. Robert Lowe! He did one of my all-time favorite doom albums, Solitude Aeturnus' "Into The Depths Of Sorrow". Awesome.
Robert Lowe is a doom god. Second only to the mighty Messiah Marcolin IMO.
I have to check out more Candlemass to see what Messiah Marcolin is all about.

My favorite is Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, but Nightfall is also fantastic. If you like those, get everything from the 80s along with Death Magic Doom and their self-titled.

Yup, those are the essential albums.
I have to say, I like Johan Lanquist more than any of Candlemass's other vocalists, including Messiah. Robert Lowe is probably my second-favorite.

Dude. I agree completely with the vocalist situation. I think Messiah is terrible. Love King of the Grey Islands and Death Magic Doom.
I love Johan the most tbh. On first listen I actually sorta thought it was Matt Barlow.
Johan's vocal performance on EDM is one of the greatest in metal, IMO. Just flawless.
Rob Lowe is great, too, but I liked him better in Solitude Aeturnus.
I'm not crazy on them, but Robert Lowe is an awesome vocalist.
