Messiah Marcolin blows Robert Lowe out of the water.
Messiah is very overrated.

I find Robert's vocals to be a bit dry and dull to be honest.
Also marcolin abuses his vibrato
Speaking of Solitude, I got a free copy of a live Candlemass performance in Birmingham when I bought my new copy of EDM. Messiah absolutely butchered Solitude, which was very disappointing. I mean seriously, why the fuck would you be yelling at the crowd to get excited during the intro to that song?
Exactly. Should be telling the crowd to sit the fuck still and enjoy.

Doom's not about getting excited. Marcolin fails.

Also my drunk post still stands, he abuses vibrato and is just a shitty vocalist in general.
Fuck you Butt.

Anyways, I found out that Swallow the Sun and Albert Witchfinder from Reverend Bizarre covered Solitude in the related videos. Instead of the acoustic guitar they use a piano at the beginning.
Spoiler

That was a pretty cool cover, actually. I like how the piano sounds at the beginning, and Albert sounds really good.
I'm not a particular fan of Rob Lowe because I think Solitude Aeturnus really fucking sucks, but Candlemass is great. Maybe Lowe is better with Candlemass, but I wouldn't know as I've been meaning to check out some Candlemass Aeturnus (amirite?!), but those albums are low on my list of albums to purchase.

That said, I own EDM, TOC, Nightfall and the self-titled and my opinion is that EDM and the S/T are probably the best things I have heard from Candlemass.
Fuck yeah, Rob Lowe is definitely ftw.

Indeed. Johan Lanquist is even better, though.
Will need to listen to EDM a few more times to confirm that but I'm definitely not that into Messiah's vocals. They're a bit too... falsetto-ey for my tastes, I guess.
