I remember a thread like this in KK and since that's dead, I figured I might as well start its spiritual offspring here.. unless there's already a thread like that here and I simply forgot.

So I'll start off with my team of awesome deceased musicians..
Freddie Mercury - vocals, piano/keyboard
Chuck Schuldiner - guitar, vocals
Cliff Burton - bass, backing vocals
Gar Samuelson - drums

Genre - progressive rock + technical death-thrash with a side of power metal
Thrash metal:
Martin Walkyier - Vocals
Tommy Vetterli - Guitar
Aleksander Sidorchik - Guitar
Steve DiGiorgio - Bass
Gene Hoglan - Drums
The greatest doom metal band to never exist.

Ozzy-Vocals
Jus Oborn-Guitar, Vocals????
Tony Iommi-Guitar
Geezer Butler-Bass
Bill Ward-Drums

yes I just did that. Electric Sabbath.
Mikko Aspa - Vocals / Varg Vikernes - Guitars / Necrobutcher - Bass / Inferno - Drums
Frank Mullen - Vocals
Luc Lemay - Guitar
Sean Malone - Bass
Gene Hoglan - Drums
That'd be a pretty rad DM band, twins.
Yeah. I wasn't sure about Mullen, as I was also considering David Vincent, but the instrumentalists are all top-tier.
Dave (or at least Altars/BATS-era Dave) wouldn't be bad either. It's just a shame his vocals have deteriorated so much... it's like a hardcore shout now. Sad
Yeah, I don't know if it's just normal wear-and-tear on his vocal cords or a conscious decision to suck. But his rasps on Altars are just awesome. Now that I think more about it, I think Mullen's vocals would work better with the type of dm that this band would play. Dave's style just jells perfectly with the thrash and black metal influences in Altars.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Vocals - Jason Keyser (ex-Skinless)
Guitar/Vocals - Muhammed SuiƧmez (Necrophagist)
Guitar/ Vocals - Nergal (duh)
Fretless Bass - Forest (Augury, Quo Vadis, Beyond Creation)
Drums - Mario Duplantier (Gojira)

I'm pretty sure the world would explose. Groove/prog/tech/Brutal Blackened Death with bass solos all the time and three singers.
Or perhaps explode. Either is an acceptable outcome, though.
Explose is a word?
In what language? Definitely not the Language of Kings.

Edit: And for my team...The Klan. In their entirety.
You english-speaking folks are weird, if the right word is Explode than why aren't we talking about explodions Grin I won't start saying French is more logical and coherent as a language though, because that would be farther from the truth than any words coming from the Pope's mouth.
It's strange, but there is a pattern. Torsion refers to torque, provisions to provide ect. And apparently english is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn.
vocals-Chuck Billy (Testament)
lead guitar-Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom)
rhythm guitar- Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)-I know some people here might not like that choice
bass guitar-Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)
drums-Dave Lombardo (Slayer)

not sure of the genre
Vocals - Butt
Guitar - Matt
Guitar - Kim
Bass - Me
Keyboards - Ogre
